Rafter 🎾🤙
Both in iconic outfits. What a great times. Peak serve'n'volley
=
Gerd Szepanski , der Kommentator war weltklasse RIP
Great time stamp from the past. Two baseline specialists
Beasts!
The true Tennis, fast and with S&V 😍❤ Not the one today played on same and ridiculous slow courts...
Two olympics champions🏆🥇🇨🇭🇩🇪🎾👍
Pistol Pete was coming off losing in 96' and was taking no prisoners....
Wer war der Kommentator?
@@floeichinger24 Gerd Szepanski. Auch schon seit Jahren tot.
Excellent you do Slam dunk like LeBron James 🏀
Ridiculous carry on from a clearly past it Connors who has to resort to swearing to mask his ineptitude
It's funny reading all these comments about todays tennis being boring and only baseline play. Many people seem to forget that 30 years ago there was a lot of debate about there being no longer rallies and it was all about hitting service-aces. That's why they changed the courts and the tennisballs, remember? I do agree. Tennis back then was more varied ,and exciting, compared to today.
great staff , hope you can upload krajicek vs rusedski , london final
„Becker (…), der immer wieder den Arm hebte.“ Früher war wohl doch nicht alles besser.
Interesting , never saw him wearing wrist bands in the 90s . I know later in his career 2000s he did but first time seen this in the 90s
As a die hard Agassi fan, it pains me so much seing the likes of Edberg, Korda, Safin or Hewitt beating Sampras at the US Open
One of the greatest performances by anyone in a GS title is by Edbergs's in USO 92 title defence. 5 setters against Krajicek, Lendl, Chang and then 4 setter against Sampras. Supreme fighting spirit and endurance by a silky smooth soft player.
Jimbo's first singles title
Pete ? Un vrai prodige 💜💜
Excellent video, pl also add 1988 FO between them, another good match
How in the world did Sampras serve 135 - 140 mph serve with such a heavy, Stone Age racket ? It’s mind blowing! 🤯
First set was an exibition for Pete😉
Teacher vs student😉
Nice to see Keith Richards in the audience, a guest of Mats. Not many know, and it doesn't fit his image, but growing up he played tennis.
This tennis blows away modern tennis.
You don't see Conners style of play anymore. He had great ground strokes with the flat slice shot, much like Chris Everett.
good match, thank you 😊
...this tennisgods are too perfekt in their 1st&2nd aktions, that this game, is one of the most skilled, but also most boring matchups ever...sry 2 point out...;/
No steroids😂,from Reebock...
Do you have the Match Becker vs Rostagno at 1989 US Open when the net helped Becker at Matchpoint Rostagno who later lost the match? And does anybody know which Band sang the introsong of the US Open 1989. The songtext included "ready to begin" I guess.
Great video. I'm on the lookout for Becker v Peter Lundgren 1989 final Wirral International exhibition event pre Wimbledon??
Sampras forever.
I find it amazing how many of the round robin matches at New York, were so poorly attended. Here we have two top players; Edberg (who went on to win this tournament) and Agassi, yet the stadium is practically empty. Fast-forward when the tournament moved to Europe, and the stadium looked full for practically every round robin match. Maybe the tournament should have moved from the USA to Europe much sooner than 1990.
Ever saw a backhand like at 48:40....
back in the days when Men's matches did LOOK like MEN playing!!!! Krajicek was such an elegant player
What a tight match ! Mats did not played so bad but Pete seemt to be already the great Sampr-ace...he deserve this victory as Mats did not give it to him
Even in a loss Edberg was such a joy to watch. Always attacking, and if he could hit a sharp return he'd be attacking too. Edberg matches up well against anyone due to his style. Plus he kept those happy feet moving.
36:01 - witness the Sampras forehand
incredible picture quality! Thanks!
Merci.
I think the umpire is saying "Jeu USA" instead of "Jeu Etats-Unis" as it would be correct in French. But he pronounces "USA" in the German way...
Return Ace?? that stat has been retired now i guess
Thank you!
Why they are playing not on the centercourt?
Both semifinals and final were played on the same day.
